Absa Bank contributes 100M Ugx towards the Kiteezi landfill affected families

Kampala-Uganda: In response to the devastating Lusanja Kiteezi landfill slide, Absa Bank donated UGX100 million to the Uganda Red Cross Society to support immediate disaster relief efforts for the affected families.

Absa Bank Managing Director, Mumba Kalifungwa expressed deep sympathy for the victims of this tragic event: “Our hearts go out to the families affected by this disaster. In moments like these, it’s vital that we come together as a community to offer support.

We hope this contribution will help provide some relief and comfort during this difficult time.” The donation will be used to provide essential relief supplies, including temporary shelter and basic household essentials, to over 200 families. As search and rescue operations continue, we remain committed to supporting the Uganda Red Cross Society in its efforts to assist those in need. We send our heartfelt thoughts and prayers to all those impacted, and we are grateful to the Uganda Red Cross for their tireless work in helping our fellow Ugandans through this crisis-Absa Bank Managing Director, Mumba Kalifungwa
