MaxxPro armored vehicles successfully evacuated Ukrainian troops under intense artillery fire in the Pokrovske sector, according to a report by Militarniy.
A group of soldiers had been holding their position despite being under pressure from three sides. When it became clear that they risked encirclement, MaxxPro vehicles were dispatched for their extraction.
“The guys held off the enemy for several days, but when the situation became critical, the decision was made to evacuate the personnel from their positions. Using two MaxxPro armored vehicles, under heavy artillery fire, the boys managed to get out without losses,” said soldiers from the 68th Separate Jaeger Brigade.
Released video footage shows two MaxxPro MRAP (Mine-Resistant Ambush Protected) vehicles speeding along a dirt road adjacent to Ukrainian positions. Under heavy artillery shelling, the vehicles reached the troops and extracted them amidst ongoing explosions.
All the defenders, who had maintained their positions as long as possible in a tactical semi-encirclement, were successfully evacuated alive.
The International MaxxPro, manufactured by Navistar Defense, is one of the most widely used Western MRAP vehicles in Ukraine’s Defense Forces. Ukrainian military personnel have praised the vehicle for its survivability and mobility.
