Manchester United have suffered two injury blows, with summer signing Leny Yoro and striker Rasmus Hojlund set to miss a significant period of action, the club have confirmed.
French centre-back Yoro, who was only signed last month from Lille, is set to be absent for three months after injuring his foot in Man Utd’s pre-season match against Arsenal on 28 July.
Hojlund, who was withdrawn shortly after scoring against the Gunners, suffered a hamstring problem and is likely to be out for six weeks.
The matches they could miss
If Yoro is unavailable for the next three months he could miss up to 10 Premier League matches, which includes a home encounter against Liverpool, and back-to-back fixtures against Tottenham Hotspur and Aston Villa.
Hojlund could miss up to five Premier League matches.

It’s a huge blow to Erik ten Hag, who recently said he hoped his side would suffer fewer injuries this season.
In 2023/24, Man Utd had 45 reported cases of injury. Throughout the season they had 21 players on the sidelines.
“We know that because we had injuries and we are vulnerable and we have to avoid this by firstly getting less injuries, picking up less injuries. And secondly, our squad has to be good in its depth,” Ten Hag said.
“Of course, we have the quality, but in the depth, now we have to catch up and and even more because this season will be the survival of the fittest.”
Updates on Rashford and Antony
In Man Utd’s most recent pre-season friendly, a 3-2 win against Real Betis, Marcus Rashford and Antony were both forced off through injury.
Ten Hag gave an update on their situations and whether they could feature against Liverpool in South Carolina on 4 August.
“We have to wait,” Ten Hag said. “Of course, we don’t go into risk – to the last game of the tour, going into the season next week already, into an important game [against Manchester City in the Community Shield].
“We are still within the 24 [hours] after a game. The final assessment we have to make and we will see if they are ready for the final game on Saturday against Liverpool.”
