Hello and welcome back to TNT Sports’ live coverage of the Boxing Fight Night live from the Resorts World Arena in Birmingham. The hotly anticipated rematch between Nathan Heaney and Brad Pauls for the British title did not disappoint as the latter won in dramatic style in the last round. Earlier there was a brilliant performance from Andrew Cain in taking the British bantamweight crown.

THAT’S ALL FOR TONIGHT…

Yet another truly magnificent Magnificent 7. Pauls’ last-round glory grab will stick long in the memory, but so will Andrew Cain’s fantastic performance also winning the British title. We saw Chantelle Cameron show she is well worthy of another crack at Katie Taylor and a fight of the year contender as Ekow Essuman stopped Owen Cooper in the last round of their exhilarating ten-rounder.

‘I FINALLY GOT MY ROSES’ – PAUL

PAULS WINS BY KNOCKOUT IN ROUND 12!

An incredible victory for Pauls. He picked up where he left off and a barrage of swinging lefts and right hands put Heaney down in the neutral corner and on his knees he had nothing left to beat the count. Pauls is the new British champion!

HEANEY-PAULS: ROUND 11

Big round for Pauls! The momentum swings back again. Pauls lands with right hands against Heaney with the champion’s back against the ropes and then another huge right sees Heaney wobbling and very close to being put down.

HEANEY-PAULS: ROUND 10

A tight round, it may be that Heaney just sneaked it. This fight is totally up for grabs.

HEANEY-PAULS: ROUND 9

Heaney had good success with a couple of left hooks to the body and combined them with straight right hands. His first round for a while.

HEANEY-PAULS: ROUND 8

Another Pauls round, Heaney lands some one-twos but Pauls keeps landing big shots and bullying Heaney in close.

HEANEY-PAULS: ROUND 7

Heaney has landed more with his jabs but his left hand cannot keep Pauls off now and he was caught with a number of eye-catching hooks and crosses from the challenger, who probably edges the round.

HEANEY-PAULS: ROUND 6

Heaney cannot keep Pauls off now. His nose is bleeding as Pauls who could hardly land early is now landing power shots at will.

HEANEY-PAULS: ROUND 5

Heaney’s legs are a little shaky, getting caught with a few nasty lefts to the body and another right cross. Heaney fights back near the end of the round, but the fight is back level on the scorecards now.

HEANEY-PAULS: ROUND 4

Heaney goes down! Richie Woodhall called it, Heaney was getting predictable moving to his left after his jab. This jab was slow and he was caught with a peach of a counter right hand which sunk him to the seat of his pants. Heaney took it pretty well.

HEANEY-PAULS: ROUND 3

3-0 to Heaney. Just like in the last fight, Heaney is building an early lead. Pauls has to find a way to land more than single shots, he is being picked off too easily. A couple of good right hands on the bell might give Pauls encouragement.

HEANEY-PAULS: ROUND 2

Heaney is controlling the pace and distance, as TNT Sports expert Richie Woodhall says Pauls needs to be busier with his feet to get in position.

HEANEY-PAULS: ROUND 1

A Heaney right uppercut is the first good punch of the fight and the Stoke man forces his opponent back afterwards. The champion’s round.

HEANEY COMES TO THE RING TO DELILAH

Few better entrances in the game than this.

CAIN CELEBRATES WITH STABLEMATE NICK BALL

CAIN STOPS LANE IN ROUND 5!

Cain could sense he had his opponent on the brink and came straight out dropping his opponent with a left hook, right uppercut. Lane gamely kept coming forward despite being on shaky legs but a counter right hand, left hook body combination put Lane back on the floor and the referee immediately waved the fight off. You don’t get many more impressive performances to win a British title.

LANE-CAIN: ROUND 4

Cain is so precise with his shots, lining up Lane and mixing up his shots, knocking out his gumshield with a long hook. Another left hook wobbles Lane and then a double right hook in close also hurts his opponent near the bell. This doesn’t look like it will go on much longer.

LANE-CAIN: ROUND 3

Lane has some more success in close landing some good left hooks to the body, but it just leaves him more open to counters and you can see a little damage to him over the eye now.

LANE-CAIN: ROUND 2

Cain is having his way in there at present, avoiding and blocking shots and then landing jabs, straight rights and uppercuts. He adds a left jab after a clinch just before the bell.

LANE-CAIN: ROUND 1

Lane is looking to force the fight but it is Cain who looks the more dangerous catching his opponent as he comes in.

LANE-CAIN UP NEXT…

The British and Commonwealth bantamweight titles are on the line.
