Mpigi, (UG):- The construction works for the perimeter wall surrounding Mawokota Stadium are almost complete with the facility now given the green light to host Masaza cup matches, DailyExpress understands.
The Shs300m project commissioned by Mawokota County Chief Ms Sarah Nanono and team manager Mr Denis Bugaya last month is expected to protect the stadium land and ensure the fans’ safety during matches.
The stadium construction committee led by Mr Bugaya on Tuesday, June 25, 2024, took the Kayima of Mawokota on a guided tour to inspect the progress of works which have taken nearly a month.
Mr Bugaya assured the Kayima and people of Mawokota that the big job is over and that they are just left with a few works to full completion then hand it over.
Meanwhile, Engineer Bruno Tibakunirwa who is in charge of the construction works said the work is nearly 80 per cent done all the rest will be done while the people of Mawokota enjoy the Masaza matches.
He also revealed that the project will help the team, especially in the team revenue collection at the entrance, as a whole as well as protecting the boundary grounds of the stadium.
The County Chief, Ms Nanono who also addressed the media at the stadium urged the people of Mawokota to attend the Masaza Cup tourney in full support of their team to win trophies.
The Chairman Mawokota Fans Club, Mr Isma Migyagulo added his voice to that of the Kayima and urged all fans to turn up in big numbers and cheer the team, for without them, the team cannot prosper.
