Watchman who tortured pupils in viral video remanded Leave a Comment / By Kmaupdates / Tuesday, 25 June 2024, 20:13 Spread the loveViews: 9 DAVID KITUNGULU, 50, (L) ESCORTED BY A PRISONS WARDER AT KAMULI COURT ON TUESDAY, JUNE 25, 2024.Kamuli, (UG):- The Chief Magistrate’s court in Kamuli District has remanded David Kitungulu a watchman at Butegere Primary school after charging him with aggravated torture of three pupils of Butegere Primary school in Butansi sub county Kamuli district Kitungulu, 50, appeared in court on Tuesday, June 25, together with the Head teacher of Butegere Primary School, Ms Nambi Kezia who was arrested on Monday (yesterday) on the orders of Ms Birungi Rose the RDC of Kamuli district after the indication that she was the the mastermind of the aggravated torture of the juveniles. The presiding Chief Magistrate, Ms Kamuli Aisha Nabukeera charged Kitungulu with aggravated torture of Nangobi Winnie 10, Nangobi Betinah 13 and Naigaga Anita 12 all pupils of Butegere Primary school and sent him on remand until next week on 2nd July 2024.Ms Kezia Nambi, Head teacher Butegere Primary school was also charged with the same cases which she denied and the Chief Magistrate allowed her to seek for bail.However the District state attorney, Mr Akullo Charles request her to be granted bail after realising that the surelities she brought were not capable to grant her bail and because the case is of public interest .she was also remanded upto 2nd July 2024.“Your worship please don’t grant her bail because the surelities she brought are not capable and the case is of public interest”; said Akullo Charles.Ms Nambi had brought Kasoga Anthony 26 her biological son, Kavule Umar 40 a resident of Butegere Naluwoli parish Butansi sub county Kamuli district and Muyala Richard 50 her brother as her surelities who were denied by the state attorney.Kitungulu was arrested following the viral video of the torture incident in which he appeared flogging the victims prompting the police to open a general inquiry file vide GEF 23/2024. 1,689
