LIST: Prisons boss Byabashaija reshuffles 38 senior officers in major changes

COMMISSIONER GENERAL OF PRISONS, CAN. DR. J.O.R. BYABASHAIJA, ANNOUNCED THE RESHUFFLE ON FRIDAY, JUNE 21, 2024.

Kampala, (UG):- The Uganda Prisons Commissioner General, Can Dr Johnson Byabashaija has announced various appointments, transfers, and leave of officers affecting over 38 senior officers in the process.

In some of the changes announced on Frida, June 21, Byabashaija promoted and appointed Ms Prossy Geraldine Najjuma, CP, Industries, as the Acting Senior Commissioner of Prisons in Charge of Industries. Ms. Stella Nabunya, CP, RPC Kampala Extra Region, was transferred to Prisons Headquarters as Commissioner of Prisons in Charge of Health Services. Francis Xavier Elubu, ACP, took over as RPC Kampala Extra Region.

Fred Kajubi Kayongo, ACP, returned from leave and was appointed Acting Commissioner of Prisons in Charge of Education Services. Ronald Godie, ACP, RPC Eastern Region, was transferred to the Mid-Western Region, Masindi, as RPC, with Joseph Otai, SSP, taking over as RPC Eastern Region.

Joseph Semate Karubanga, ACP, RPC Central Region, moved to the Prisons Headquarters for legal advisory and human rights duties while Robert Tagoola Nalmuli, SSP, took over as RPC Central Region.

The Prisons chief also appointed SP Moses Ben Kuboi as DPC Wakiso, while Harriet Namakoye, SP, transferred to Mpigi District as DPC.

Catherine Okware, SP, returned from leave and became DPC Mayuge District. Ibrahim Klsaku, SP, took over as DPC Kyotera, with Peter Isingoma, ASP, replacing him at Nakasunga Prisons. Victoria Achan, SP, became Officer in Charge of Ntenjeru Prisons, while Felix Abner Mugiya, SASP, proceeded on accumulated leave.

Stella Salume Atoo, SP, was confirmed as OC Luzira Women Prison, and Annet Babirye, SP, was transferred to Nyabuhikye Prisons as OC. Amos Niwahereza, SP, became Officer in Charge of Fort Portal Main Prisons, Katojo, replacing Patrick Busuulwa, SP, who went on a course.

Ivan Nuwagaba, SP, moved to Kiboga Prisons as OC, with Amos Alinaitwe, SASP, taking over at Kyegegwa Prisons. Florence Kyaligonza, SP, became Deputy OC Mechanical Workshop. Jackson Koojo, SASP, opened the District Command Office as DPC Lwengo.

Lillian Kusasira, SASP, transferred to Bugembe Prisons as OC, while Daisy Atimango, ASP, became OC Jinja Women Prisons. Harold Wasswa, SASP, became Staff Officer, Hoima District. Enid Sarah Ayot, ASP, took over as OC of Nakatunya Prisons.

Dickson Obita, ASP, became Officer in Charge, Kagoma Prisons, replacing Aggrey Ahimbisibwe, P.O.I., who went on leave. Paul Emmanuel Opolot, ASP, transferred to Oyam Prisons as OC, while Karim Sserunkuma, ASP, went on a course.

Alex Magoola, ASP, became OC Nyimbwa Prisons, with Koradi Twijukye, ASP, moving to Isimba Prisons Farm. Bosco Ocen, ASP, took over as OC of Luzira Barracks. Justin Eilu, ASP, was confirmed at OC Kigo Prisons.

Rosemary Nabayunga, ASP, became OC Buwambo Prisons, with Raymond Obala, P.O.I., transferring to Budaka Prisons as OC. Benjamin Lodda Magoola, ASP, became OC Sheema Prisons. Christopher Mugisha, ASP, took over as OC Gilgil Prisons.

Enid Charity Ibuyat Pedun, ASP, became Deputy OC Luzira Women Prisons. Patience Nambuya, Cadet ASP, transferred to Nyabuhikye Prisons as Deputy OC. Charles Bitswatswa, P.O.I., became OC Buhweju Prisons, while Rita Matuuka, P.O.I., transferred to Mbarara Women Prisons as OC.

Samuel Ochan, P.O.I., became OC of Butuntumula Prisons. George Albert Kibwota, P.O.I., took over as OC Kidera Prisons. Moses Ocen, P.O.I., became Staff Officer, Oyam District. Grace Mpoya, P.O.I., became Staff Officer, Mayuge District.

Caroline Ikareut, P.O.I., became Deputy OC at Mbarara Women Prisons. Mike Khode, P.O.I., reported to Pece Prisons for duty. Paul Oryem, P.O.I., went to Orom Tikao Prisons, while William Odongo, P.O.I., reported to Odina Prisons.
