Russian President Vladimir Putin emphasized during a press conference in Vietnam on Thursday that the West will “blame” Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky for all “unpopular decisions” and subsequently seek to “replace” him by 2025.
The Russian leader further stressed that South Korea providing weaponry to Ukraine would be a “big mistake.” He went on to say that Russia has the “right” to supply weapons to other regions, most likely alluding to North Korea, with which Putin signed a strategic partnership treaty that guarantees military support to either nation in the event of war.
In addition, Putin pointed out that NATO’s expansion to Asia “as if for a permanent place of residence” poses a threat to all countries in the area, including the Russian Federation. “We are obliged to respond to this and will do so,” he concluded.
