In Kampala,Standard Primary School is among the top 3 best private schools in the latest rankings according to KCCA

KAMPALA EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR, MS. DOROTHY KISAKA HANDING OVER A RECOGNITION AWARD TO DIRECTORS KAMPALA STANDARD NURSERY PRIMARY SCHOOL – KYANJA WHO EMERGED THE 3RD BEST SCHOOL.

Kampala Standard Primary and Nursery School – Kyanja is yet again in the news after emerging among the top three best schools in the city centre, a ranking recently released by the Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA).

This was revealed at the event of awarding and celebrating the best-performing schools in 2023 PLE and school performance assessment 2023 in which the overall best UPE schools were; Nsambya Girls School, Kitante Primary School, and Nakasero Primary School, while Yudesi Primary School, Ebenezer Junior School in Kawempe, and Kampala Standard Primary School, Kyanja were named as the top three best among private schools.

The event which took place on Friday, May 24, at Kampala Parents School saw the headteachers of both government and private schools from Kampala district gathered for the celebration. This event was presided over by the KCCA Executive Director, Ms Dorothy Kisaka along with the KCCA Directorate of Education and Sports.

In her remarks at the event, Ms Kisaka applauded the NRM government under the stewardship of HE. Yoweri Kaguta Museveni and the NRM government for empowering the government policy of free education for all.

“This education policy is being observed in the 79 Universal Primary Education schools and 22 Universal Secondary Education schools under the oversight of KCCA,” Ms Kisaka noted.

The Director of Education and Social Services, Charles Maginot said KCCA is going to ensure that more capacity building is done for the teachers to equip them effectively.

The Head Teachers gathered from both government and private schools that host examinations. Celebrants were praised for their work, which is foundational in building development capacity for Uganda and accelerating the achievement of the development goals.

Speaking to this publication after receiving the award, Mr Simon Mugaaju, the headteacher at Kampala Standard PS said in verbatim; “We train our pupils holistically and ensure that our learners are disciplined and manage time well. These factors help learners to remain focused and excel.:

His deputy, Mr Samson Katubeho, in his own words, said; “Our pupils excel because we offer different packages that help them to think broadly. We also prioritize small classes to ensure maximum attention & we have programs like the Young Engineers program that spark critical thinking among learners.”
