Eastern Muslim Region Headquarters Construction Committee Presents Report to Mufti

His Eminence Sheikh Shaban Ramadhan Mubaje, the Mufti of Uganda, received a delegation from Eastern Muslim Region Headquarters led by Sheikh Abdul-Hakim Mugoya, the Kadhi of Sironko Muslim District  represented Sheikh Dr. Ahmad Haamid Wandega, the Regional Assistant to the Mufti.  The delegation presented a progressive first-quarter report on the ongoing construction project of the Eastern Muslim Region Headquarters at Lupada Nambogo, along the Tirinyi – Kampala Highway.
They highlighted several hindrances to the project, particularly the urgent need for various items such as iron bars and bags of cement as the construction progresses from the foundation. They also took the opportunity to ask the Mufti to fulfill his pledge of UGX 10 million, made on behalf of the UMSC headquarters during a recent fundraising drive for the project.
In his response, Mufti Mubaje expressed concern that the ongoing process is progressing slower compared to the Bunyoro-Toro Muslim Region Headquarters Construction project. The Mufti promised to provide the necessary construction materials to complete the first phase within the coming weeks.
The meeting was attended by UMSC officials, including Hadji Abbas Muluubya Ssekyanzi, Secretary General; Hon. Arinda Abdu-Razaaq, Deputy Secretary General in charge of Planning and Development; Kagiiko Imam Shaffi, Social Service Secretary; and Hon. Sophie Safina Kenyanji, Chairperson of the National Muslim Women Council.
