Dr. Rinox Abura Ongom, a dedicated National Resistance Movement (NRM) supporter from Abim district in Karamoja sub-region, has announced his candidacy for the position of Member of Parliament (MP) seat in the upcoming 2026 general elections for Labwor constituency. With a strong passion for healthcare and the anti-corruption struggle, Dr. Ongom vows to bring quality medical services and transparency, especially to the people of Abim district.
As a long-time NRM supporter, Dr. Ongom has been actively involved in community development initiatives, particularly in the healthcare sector. He promises to leverage his expertise to improve the district’s healthcare infrastructure, enhance access to quality medical care, and combat poverty and corruption.
“My vision is to ensure every citizen of Abim has access to quality healthcare, education, and economic opportunities,” Dr. Ongom said in a statement. “I will fight tirelessly against corruption, which has hindered our progress for too long.”
Dr. Ongom’s candidacy has been well-received by the community of Labwor county in Abim district, especially in areas like Awach, Orwamuge, Alerek, Morulem, Kiru, Abim town council, Atunga, and Nyakwae area, with many expressing optimism about his commitment to addressing the district’s pressing issues, including unemployment and insecurity stemming from suspected cattle rustlers.
