    The elder Woods is a three-time U.S. Open champion but has yet to win at Pinehurst No. 2. In 1999, he finished tied third, two strokes back of winner Payne Stewart, and in 2005, he ended up in second, two back of Michael Campbell. He didn’t compete at Pinehurst in 2014.

    Cameron Kuchar’s son, Matt, as well as Sunny Kim, Garrett Willis, Reed Greyserman (brother of Max), Austin Lemieux (son of Mario), and Michael Buttacavoli will also play at the local U.S. Open qualifier on Thursday.
