Jinja, (UG): Nile Breweries Limited has boosted the preparations for the Kyabazinga Royal Wedding with a mega contribution of Shs450 million as sponsorship package.
The much-anticipated Royal wedding of Isebantu H/W William Wilberfoce Gabula Nadiope IV and the Inhebantu of Busoga Her Highness Jovia Mutesi will take place on November 18 at Bugembe Cathedral in Jinja City.
The shs450m package was announced by Njuki Emmanuel the Head of Legal and Corporate Affairs at Nile Breweries Ltd, during an event held on Friday, October 20, at the Kingdom headquarters at Bugembe, Jinja city.
While handing over the Shs450m dummy cheque to Busoga Prime Minister, Mr Joseph Muvawala, Mr Njuki said the package includes cash and other items in kind.
“..media partnership will involve advertising of the wedding preparations on big billboards and radio mentions, while each of the twelve celebration venues will be provided with a special bar filled with Nile Breweries beer brands for people to celebrate,” Mr Njuki stated.
He added that Nile Breweries has been sharing a lot with Busoga Kingdom, including the water from the Source of River Nile, which is used in beer production; therefore, the offer was necessary to cement their relationship.
“There is unity in Busoga which has attracted companies like Nile Breweries to associate with when we have such a big event,’’ Mr Muvawala said, challenging Kyabazinga subjects to continue with their good branding so that more people are attracted to the Kingdom.
The committee’s head of media and entertainment, Ms Justine Kasule Lumumba, hailed the media for positively reporting about the wedding.
The clan heads Spokesperson, Mr David Igulu Isabirye, said the contribution is part of their “parental support to the Kyabazinga” since royal chiefs are made by clan members.
Present at the event on Friday was Rt. Hon Justine Kasule Lumumba the Minister for General Duties in the Office of the Prime Minister who is also head of Media and Entertainment committee on the Kyabazinga Royal Wedding Central organizing committee.
Others were Eng. Patrick Batumbya the chairperson Kyabazinga Royal Wedding Central organizing committee, his deputy Martin Tibalira, Isabalangira of Busoga Samuel Nkuutu Zirabamuzale and Busoga Kingdom Ministers who included Owek. Alex Luganda (Constitutional Affairs), Owek. Ivan Kiirya (State for Finance), Owek. James Mukembo (Youth), Owek. Ranmal Keshwala (Commerce and Industry), Owek. Edward Munaaba (General Duties) and Owek. Nkuutu among others.
