While opening the National Budget Conference FY 2024/25, Prime Minister Rt Hon Nabbanja Robinah said government of Uganda with support of the development Partners,Private Sector & Civil society has put in place the environment & key interventions to drive the desired economic growth.

“As we start the planning & budgeting process for FY 2024/25,our task is to ensure we are all committed to the efforts of lifting the 39% of the population from the subsistence economy,” said the Premier.

She said Govt will continue to guarantee peace & security as well as ensuring the protection & promotion of the fundamental & other human rights and freedoms.
According to Finance Minister Matia Kasaija the Budget Strategy for FY 2024/25 is to accelerate economic growth by at least 7%.
Kasaija urged All Accounting Officers to be at the forefront of ensuring efficient and effective implementation of Government’s plans.
