Mo Farah’s Great North Run time revealed for his final ever race before retirement

Sir Mo Farah completed the final race of his glittering career before retirement at the Great North Run 2023 in Newcastle.

Farah, who is Britain’s most successful track and field Olympian of all-time with four gold medals, was cheered on by thousands of spectators lining the route in emotional scenes in the North East.

The Great North Run, the largest half-marathon in the world, was a fitting place for the 40 year-old to bring the curtain down on his 27 year career having won the event multiple times in the past.

But exactly what was Farah’s time in his final ever outing before hanging up his boots?

Farah completed the Great North Run 2023 in a time of 1:03:28.

This saw Farah finish in fourth place, ending up 03:30 behind race winner Tamirat Tola from Ethiopia with a time of 59:58.

How many times has Mo Farah won the Great North Run?

Farah has won the Great North Run six times in his career.

His six victories came in succession between 2014 and 2019, having first entered the race in 2013.

This makes Farah the most successful elite male runner in the history of the race.

Farah’s best time at the Great North Run was 59.07 in 2019.

He has completed the half marathon under the magical one hour mark on two other occasions in 2015 and 2018.
