The speaker issued the warning while giving her remarks while opening today’s (29th August) plenary sitting and she noted that those acts undermine the integrity of Parliament, and they are against the laws which govern members of parliament.
The speaker also noted that she has already written to the party whips to take action on their members who are involved in this act.
Lwemiyaga Mp Theodore Ssekikuubo tried to defend these MPs sayingt there is no any member of Parliament can solicit funds but the Speaker quickly reacted saying those solociting funds from the witnesses are from the Parliamentary committee on trade, industries and tourism.
This prompted Among to direct the committee on trade, industries and tourism to make investigation on the Mps who solicited funds from the witnesses and come up with a report.
