Today, Kampala Kisenyi was in jubilation as they received the Kampala leaders. Smart City Baazar market is home to thousands of former batembeyi who used to roam the streets of Kampala. There was merry making as the Batembeyi led by Richard Lubega received the Rt.Hon.Prime Minister Robinnah Nabanjja as their chief honored guest.
The Prime Minister was received on site by the Kampala Minister Hon. Hajjati Minsa Kabanda and the KCCA Executive Director Dorothy Kisaka and the Central Division mayor, Salim Uhuru.
The Prime Minister reassured the batembeyi that the NRM government will establish a zonal market in every Division of the city. She also confirmed to them that they need not fear because government will purchase the land in Kisenyi where they are now.
