PwC Team arrives for Inspection

The CAF team from PwC to inspect facilities as submitted by Uganda, Kenya and Tanzania for the East Africa Pamoja AFCON Bid 2027 arrived in Uganda on Friday morning. The trio from PwC who were assigned by CAF to conduct the exercise in countries that the AFCON Finals in 2027 welcomed at the Entebbe International Airport by FUFA 3rd Vice President Hon. Florence Nakiwala Kiyingi, FUFA Deputy CEO-Football Decolas Kiiza and Chief Executive Officer Uganda Airlines Jenifer Bamuturaki. The PwC team flew in from Kenya where they had been for two days conducting a similar exercise. The delegation from Nairobi also had Uganda’s FUFA Exco Member Ronnie Kalema (Member of the Pamoja Bid) and Sarah Ayebale – MoES Representative. Kenyans Doreen Nabwire-Competitions Director FKF, Nasimiyu Maureen Wekesa – Chief of Staff Ministry of Culture, the Art & Sports and John Kiende Ruga- Sports Kenya Ltd (Sports Facilities Custodian in Kenya) also made the trip to Uganda. Tanzanian officials Kidao Wilfred (TFF Chief Executive Officer) and Boniface Wambura (Director Legal, Media and Marketing) arrived on Thursday. Kenya and Tanzania officials are also in the country to follow up proceedings of the exercise.

Day 1 (Friday 28th July, 2023) 9am: Arrival of CAF Inspection team at Entebbe International Airport 11am: CAF Inspection team at Mandela National Stadium, Namboole 2pm: CAF Inspection team at Nakivubo stadium 3.30pm: CAF Inspection team at KISU-Bukoto 4.30pm: CAF Inspection team at Mulago Hospital 5.30pm: CAF Inspection team at Sheraton Hotel-Kampala 7pm: CAF Inspection team at Serena Hotel-Kampala
