MP Shamim Malende,husband celebrate Idd with Musician Evelyn Lagu

Kampala Woman MP Shamim Malende has celebrated Idd el Adhuha day today, June 28, with ailing singer Evelyn Love (Evelyn Lagu).

After the prayers at Kibuli Mosque in Kampala, Malende and her husband headed straight to Lagu’s home in Bujjuuko, Wakiso district.

Malende carried along with her food items such as rice, sugar, matooke and chicken in addition to an envelope containing money that they presented to the singer.

Malende said Idd should be celebrated not only with family and loved ones, but also those who are less privileged and those that are going through hard times.

Lagu thanked the couple for thinking about her.

The singer has been battling kidney and heart problems for years.

In June 2021, she travelled to Turkey for a kidney transplant, but the process couldn’t be done because of her health condition.

The doctors advised her to come back to Uganda to get medication and advised her to go back when her health improves, but it has never changed.
