The celebrated Ugandan comedian and businessman is said to have died of a heart attack at Stana Medical Centre in Bunamwaya in the wee hours of Wednesday morning.
Lubwama served as a legislator in the 10th Parliament before he lost the seat to Mr Aloysius Mukasa in the 2021 general election.
He was first announced by events promoter, Andrew Mukasa aka Bajjo.
“Sad news,” posted the administrator of a Twitter account attributed to Lubwama, confirming his death.
According to the handle, Lubwama’s last public appearance was at the start of this week.
The singer Mesach Semakula is the one that confirmed the news through his social media platforms saying he is very speechless.

Last year it is when he was so bad off but was rushed to the hospital outside Uganda and he came back very fine.
Kato Lubwama has also been preparing for his concert at Serena Hotel but unfortunately it looks like that is not going to happen.
His cause of the death hasn’t been revealed to the public but we will keep you updated about everything.

Kato Lubwama, the founder of Diamonds Ensemble, Diamonds Production, and B24 TV, was hospitalised with heart complications in March 2022.
He was eventually airlifted to Turkey, where he had a successful procedure and seemed to be stabilised. Despite this, he continued to have regular medical examinations to keep track of his condition.
The comedian and actor was once recognised by President Museveni for his outstanding work in the film industry.
He was among the 363 people who received medals during the Heroes Day on June 9th, 2017 at St. Augustine Catholic Parish Grounds in Zirobwe sub-county, Luweero district.
Kato Lubwama has been known for his humorous comedy.
As the renown movie producer, actor, and comedian that he is, he has been behind some of Uganda’s outstanding drama plays.
At the time of his death, he was directing and producing Akanyola Bikya, a drama series on Pearl Magic Loko on DStv.

Kato Lubwama born on 16, August 1970, completed his primary seven (PLE) in 1993, at Nabagereka Primary School.
In 1988, Lubwama sat for his Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE), at Old Kampala Secondary School.
1991-1992, Lubwama obtained his Special University Entry Examination, Certificate Other, at Makerere University Kampala.
1994, Lubwama obtained a Diploma in Music, Dance and Drama, at Makerere University Kampala.
