Prospective new Man Utd owner Sheikh Jassim wants to sign Kylian Mbappe along with two of the France star’s compatriots if he manages to buy the club, according to a reporter.
Sheikh Jassim is in the running to buy Man Utd from the Glazers, battling competition from Sir Jim Ratcliffe. If the Qatari billionaire is successful and takes control of Man Utd, there will be much anticipation about the kind of players they could look to sign.
And judging by new information from Bild journalist Christian Falk, Sheikh Jassim’s initial list of targets is certainly an ambitious one.
Mbappe currently plays for Paris Saint-Germain, another club with Qatari owners. One of the best players in the world, the 24-year-old would likely become Man Utd’s record signing if he was to end up at Old Trafford.
And he could be followed by two of his French compatriots, since Falk has claimed that Man Utd’s potential new owners would also be targeting Kingsley Coman and Eduardo Camavinga.

Coman presently plies his trade in the German Bundesliga for Bayern Munich. Now 26 years old, he retains an astonishing record of winning a league title in every season of his professional career, which could be a good omen.
Camavinga, meanwhile, could be emblematic of the next generation of French talent. Aware of potential interest from Man Utd, Real Madrid are trying to renew the 20-year-old’s contract after pledging their faith in him for the long term, despite their developing pursuit of fellow midfielder Jude Bellingham from Borussia Dortmund.
Man Utd could become dominant with three French transfers
The prospect of Man Utd signing Mbappe, Coman and Camavinga would be rather frightening for their rivals. All three are world-class talents who have earned places in one of the strongest national teams in the world.
Mbappe and Coman would strengthen Man Utd in attack – where fellow Frenchman Anthony Martial might be approaching the end of his journey as a Man Utd player – while Camavinga could provide a new dimension in midfield.
Exactly how much money it will take to sign all three players remains to be seen. They are all high-profile stars at good ages, which will make them very valuable. Furthermore, they would all command high salaries.
Hence, it would be quite the statement of intent if Sheikh Jassim was able to oversee the signings of the French trio.
First of all, he will be focusing on the finer details of his bid to buy Man Utd from the Glazers. If he does take the reins, though, the club could mean business in the transfer market.
