Bruno Fernandes and Casemiro engaged in a heated discussion after Manchester United beat Aston Villa in the Premier League on Sunday.

Manchester United captain Fernandes netted the only goal of the game on the 39th minute to hand his side a boost in the race for Champions League football.

While the Portugal international was subject to heckling from Villa fans at Old Trafford, it was his own teammate that he reacted to come the full-time whistle.

Casemiro was pictured wide-eyed during a conversation with Fernandes at full-time before Harry Maguire came over to the pair.

Going viral on social media, the video provided some discomfort for Man United fans, who also noticed Jadon Sancho appearing to criticise Fernandes for ‘moaning’ during the match.

However, Fernandes and Sancho embraced for the United captain’s opener, showing that the pair are still on good terms.

Despite the altercations, Erik ten Hag praised the character of his side following the victory as he said: ‘We know that because we spoke with the lads about it.

‘We have seen character today, we were determined, passionate and we had to win and played good football.

Fans will be hopeful that Casemiro and Fernandes can put their heated discussion behind them as United seek a domestic double as they face rivals Man City in the FA Cup final at the end of the season.

The Red Devils also require three wins from their final six Premier League matches to ensure that they will be playing Champions League football next season.

Liverpool’s victory over Tottenham Hotspur saw Jurgen Klopp’s men go seven points behind their Manchester rivals.
