Former President of the Republic of Kenya,H.E Uhuru Kenyatta, was last evening recognized and awarded alongside other stakeholders for his contribution to the peaceful settlement of the conflict in the northern part of Ethiopia.

The Former President was awarded during a recognition program organized by the Ethiopian government to take stock of lessons learned from the African Union-led and Ethiopian-owned peace process.

H.E. Olusegun Obasanjo, former President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and the A.U. High Representative for the Horn of Africa, and H.E Phumzile, Mlambo- Ngcuka the former deputy president of the Republic of South Africa, were also awarded in the event themed “Enough with war lets sustain peace.”

 

The Ethiopia Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed, African Union Commission chairperson Moussa Faki and the Tigray People’s Liberation Front (TPLF) interim President Getachew Reda also graced the occasion alongside other government and Tigray officials.
