Manchester United have found out whether they will be able to sign Randal Kolo Muani this summer after the striker’s ‘dream’ next destination was revealed.
Kolo Muani has been a revelation for Eintracht Frankfurt since joining the German side on a free transfer from Nantes in July last year. Despite it being a step up in class, the attacker has managed 17 goals and 14 assists in 36 games in a Frankfurt shirt.
Only Werder Bremen’s Niclas Fullkrug has scored more times in the Bundesliga this season than Kolo Muani.
The Frenchman has forced his way into Didier Deschamps’ Les Blues team. So far he has won seven caps for France, which includes starts in the recent Euro 2024 qualifiers against the Netherlands and Republic of Ireland.
Even though Kolo Muani has only recently arrived at Frankfurt, and has a contract with them which runs until June 2027, he is already being linked with a big-money transfer away from the Waldstadion. Various sources have named him as a target for Man Utd, with Erik ten Hag looking to replace loanee Wout Weghorst with a high-quality goalscorer this summer.
Frankfurt have told Man Utd Kolo Muani will only be moving to Old Trafford if a £105million bid arrives. This has given Man Utd some thinking to do, with Ten Hag also interested in Tottenham’s Harry Kane and Victor Osimhen of Napoli.

Unfortunately for Man Utd, it does not seem like they will be able to snare Kolo Muani from Frankfurt later this year.
According to German outlet Sport1, the 24-year-old’s ‘dream’ next move is to Frankfurt’s Bundesliga rivals Bayern Munich.
Star to snub Man Utd for Bayern switch
Due to this stance, if both Man Utd and Bayern submit offers for Kolo Muani, Ten Hag’s side will likely lose out. And there is a real chance Bayern could leave Man Utd stunned by pushing to sign the goalscorer.
Thomas Tuchel’s main striker options right now are Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting and Mathys Tel. But those two players are at the complete opposite ends of their careers, with Choupo-Moting 34 years old and Tel just 17.
Tuchel needs a new centre-forward to replace Choupo-Moting, with Tel not yet experienced enough to be his successor. Kolo Muani seems like the perfect signing for Bayern to revamp their attack.
At 24, he is the perfect age to provide Bayern with plenty of years of service. And he also has a season in the Bundesliga under his belt, which means he should not need too long to adapt at the Allianz Arena.
It seems Man Utd will have to give up in their pursuit of Kolo Muani. As a result, they could now turn their attention to Kane or Osimhen and go all out to get one of those two strikers through the door. Although, Man Utd will face serious competition from a European giant for Osimhen.
It will not be easy for the Red Devils to get a world-class striker in to replace Weghorst, but this is what they must do in order to help Ten Hag create a title-winning side.
