Many people thronged the over 170k polling units (stations) across Africa’s most populous country. It could be a record turn-out compared to the 2019 general election.

The Head of Mission for the ECOWAS Election Observation Mission, HE Bai Koroma carefully follows vote counting at Wuse, Maitama Junction, Abuja, Nigeria.
This particular pollig unit has 750 voters. Votes counted so far put Peter Obi of the Labour Party (a youth enthusiast) in the lead.
