His Eminence Sheikh Shaban Ramadhan Mubaje, the Mufti of Uganda has reminded Muslims to always be grateful to the Almighty Allah for the bounties He has bestowed upon them to live fruitful lives on earth and hereafter.

This was part of a moving speech the Mufti delivered to the  guests who turned up for the thanksgiving ceremony organized by Haj Othuman Kitunzi, one of the prominent Muslim elders in Hoima City and in the entire Bunyoro- Toro region held at his home on Saturday .

The Mufti’s speech was based on the Holy Quranic chapter Mulk- Dominion 67: 2. “He is Allah who created death and life, that He may try which of you is best in deed and He is the exalted in might, oft-forgiving”

“So the verse reminds us to live righteously with the best conduct in the Communities otherwise some believers neglect to worship their Creator constantly neither expressing gratefulness  despite possessing divine bounties including healthy limbs, wealth and with high status,” Sheikh Mubaje preached.

Mufti  Mubaje hailed Haj Kitunzi and his family for organizing such a  function, which he said was in line with Islamic traditions. He observed this after hearing from the host’s speech that the purpose of  the ceremony was  to express thankfulness to Almighty Allah for having saved the family from nasty accidents.

The first accident happened when his elderly wife and five grand children who were traveling from Hoima to Kampala were almost killed in Kiboga town when speeding vehicle from a road that branches from the main highway rammed into  their family vehicle crashing it to ruins.

Fortunately the occupants escaped with minor injuries while the reckless driver died on spot. Two days later, the elder son also survived another fatal accident when his car was hit by a speeding truck in Masindi Town and he escaped with a broken arm.

In the same speech Sheikh Mubaje admonished Muslims to be mindful of Almighty Allah’s presence in their lives in order to survive natural calamities. “Indeed Almighty Allah will always protect you when  you organize thanksgiving just like Haj Kitunzi has done,” he said.

Sheikh Mubaje thanked Muslims in the Bunyoro Toro region for participating in the just concluded UMSC national elections and also hailed them for leading other Musli regions in regards to the construction of their headquarters on Bwikya Hill.
