Beach Soccer AFCON: Sand Cranes Arrive In Mozambique, Ready To Compete

The Uganda Beach Soccer National Team safely touched base in Mozambique ahead of the Beach Soccer Africa Cup of Nations.

The Sand Cranes who left the country on Tuesday night reached Mozambique the following day.

Upon arrival at Vilankulo International Airport, the contingent was treated to great reception including a cultural dance that saw some of the players and officials take part.

The 5th edition of the Beach Soccer Africa Cup of Nations will take place in Vilankuko from Friday, 21 October to 28 October.

The Sand Cranes are currently accommodated at Archipelago Resort.

The team under the tutorship of Swiss coach Angelo Schrinzi are pooled in group B alongside defending Champions Senegal, Egypt and Madagascar.

This is the Uganda’s second appearance at the continental showpiece. In the previous edition held in Senegal, Uganda reached the semifinals on their debut.
