Last evening, the U.S Ambassador to the United Nations H.E Linda Thomas-Greenfield called on me at State House Entebbe. We had a good discussion on regional matters of security and of course, the economic hardships occasioned by the Ukraine-Russian war.

Our position on regional security is that these issues can be worked out through dialogue in some parts, especially where there is a willingness to talk by either party. Talking with adversaries is not a sign of weakness but an opportunity to save valuable resources, time & life.

Uganda’s State Minister for Foreign Affair Hon. Oryem Okello with his Senior Minister Gen Jeje Odong are seen attending the meeting.

We are also appealing to the U.S that if they really want to help Africa, they should consider separating us from the sanctions in a war where we are not participating.
