Last week, Social media community was a wash of a story linking to resignation of Samson Kasumba to pursue further his PhD in Theology abroad.
Through a tweet, Kasumba revealed that he has come to a conclusion to revisit his interests in pursuing a PhD in Theology.
After a deep conversation with my family here and in a diaspora I have decided to reignite my interests in a Theology PhD having secured the necessary funding from a reputable University. It therefore means that my work on air comes to a holt. It is a painful decision.

The tweet generated different reactions as some took it as a joke for fools day that comes usually on that date and others wished him the best in his next journey.
In the news, it is said that Kasumba was to be replaced by former NTV’s senior journalist Joel Khamadi.
However today while moderating the 24th annual report on the state of human rights and freedoms in Uganda in 2021 by Uganda Human Rights Commission at Sheraton Hotel-Kampala, Kasumba made it clear that the public should disregard news in circulation linking him to resignation from his precious job at NBSTV.
