It has been claimed this week that Roman Abramovich’s sale of the Blues could be completed before the end of the season and is on course to be sorted before the May 31 deadline.

Boehly’s consortium agreed terms to buy Chelsea on Friday with Boehly, Clearlake Capital, Mark Walter and Hansjorg Wyss set to pay £2.5billion for the club while promising a further £1.75bn to ensure future sucess.

And with it now seemingly a matter of time before Boehly has control of the club, the Evening Standard claim that he is ready to ‘kick-start Chelsea transfer plans ahead of vital summer spending spree’.

There are ‘serious concerns within the club that they are playing catch-up this summer’ with Chelsea now 19 points behind Premier League leaders Manchester City after their recent slump in form.

Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen are set to leave on free transfers in the summer window and they could be joined by Cesar Azpilicueta and Marcos Alonso, who have been linked to moves away.

The Evening Stanadard insists that Tuchel is ‘expected to be fully backed in the transfer market’ with the former Borussia Dortmund coach wanting ‘two centre-backs, as well as reinforcements to his attack’ plus ‘cover at wing-back’.
