Uganda’s Archbishop Rt Rev. Kazimba has urged Christians to plant more trees as the Church prepares for Kampala JubileeDiocese Celebrations.

Speaking at a press conference convened by the Diocese of Kampala organizing committee at St. Andrew’s Church of Uganda in Bukoto Kampala, Archbishop Kazimba emphasized the importance of tree planting as it would restore the ever deteriorating environment.
He said it should even be a mandate for the clergy in the church not to baptize children if their parents have not planted a tree for their children and theirs.

He added, they should not just plant trees but mostly fruit trees where their children will eat from when they grow up in memory of baptism.
He applauded the Jubilee organizing committee for the greater strides towards having massive cerebrations since the inception.

The Diocese of Kampala was established in 1972 as a chapel but since grew to spread the whole Kampala Citywith now over 20000 Christians in the three Archdeaconries.

Speaking at the same Press Conference, Rt Rev.Hannington Mutebi the Assistant Bishop of Diocese of Kampala said the Jubilee cerebrations will involve a series of activities like outreaches especially in “ghettos”, prisons as well cleaning around the city “Bulungi bwansi”.
He urged Christians in the diocese to directly be part of the cerebrations that will mark a new chapter in the Diocese.
Peter Kiza,the Jubilee celebrations Organizing Chairperson expressed that all is set for marking the wonderful historical cerebrations.
He hinted on the further the Diocese has stretched with the commitment of the faithful and is optimistic that the spirit will be exhibited for the cerebrations.
