Cardi B and Offset are giving the world a glimpse into their colorful family life, including revealing the name of their newborn son.

The superstar rappers both took to Instagram to share adorable close-up shots of their son. Offset, born Kiari Kendrell Cephus, revealed the baby’s name in the caption of his post: “WAVE SET CEPHUS,” he wrote, alongside a photo of Wave wearing a bundle of silver chains.

Cardi shared photos of baby Wave decked out in a stylish ensemble, which included a baby blue puffer jacket with matching beanie and pants, white sneakers and a pendant necklace. Previously, Cardi had only shared a photo of Wave shortly after his birth in September 2021, in which the baby could only be seen wrapped in a blue blanket.

The rapper is back on social media after deleting both her Twitter and Instagram accounts following criticism from fans for not attending the Grammys earlier this month.

After posting about her newborn son, Cardi shared she, Offset and their children, are gracing the cover of Essence’s May/June issue, in which the couple opens up about raising a blended family.

“It’s a blessing to be able to have them all together, and to have a wife who’s open and treats them as if they’re her kids,” Offset said of Cardi’s relationship with his children. “It could be an issue, but I don’t have to go through that, and that’s beautiful.”

Cardi and Offset share 3-year-old daughter Kulture. The Migos rapper has three older children from previous relationships: sons Jordan, 12, and Kody, 7, and daughter Kalea, 7.

Cardi says she hopes to “always have a great relationship” with her step-children.

“I feel like sometimes people go into a relationship with a man or a woman who has kids with negativity—and I feel like people should embrace it, and love it,” she told Essence. “I love our family, and I wouldn’t want it any other way.”

Cardi opened up about how she and Offset held off on publicly sharing images of Wave’s face because of their experience with “Internet bullies” on Kulture’s Instagram page, which Cardi has since made private.

“We went through a lot of sad things when it comes to Kulture — terrible behavior that not even the older kids have ever been through. So many people will post mean, disgusting things, just to get a reaction from us,” Cardi said. “We want to protect our feelings, because we get very, very angry and upset.”

And despite their children’s lavish upbringing, Offset says it’s important to keep them grounded and instill a strong work ethic.

“We still teach our kids like normal parents,” Offset said. “I’ve never told (Kulture) she’s a celebrity. I want her to have the mind of a working person. I always tell my kids how hard I worked, how many years I put in to be in a position where everything is good.”
