Former army representative in Parliament Brig-Gen Felix Kulayigye has been reappointed spokesperson of the UPDF.
Brig Kulayigye previously served in the same position between 2005 and 2013.
The reapportionment was confirmed by Lt Col Ronald Kakurungu who has been acting UPDF spokesperson.
“Brig Gen Felix Kulayigye has been appointed Defence Spokesperson, replacing Brig-Gen Flavia Byekwaso currently attending National College Uganda. We welcome back Gen Kulayigye to the Office of Defence Spokesperson,” Col Kakurungu said in a statement.
Since his time as spokesperson, several officers have taken charge of the office of the spokesperson including Col Paddy Ankunda, Brig Richard Karemire and Brig Flavia Byekwaso who was the first female to hold the position.
Lt Col Kakurungu who has been holding the position in acting capacity retreats to his official position as Deputy Spokesperson.
