NEWS– The 11th Parliamentary speaker Jacob Oulanya and his deputy Anita Annet Among have joined the rest of Ugandans to eulogise the fallen Bushenyi-Ishaka Municipality legislator Arinda Gordon Cowboy.
Cowboy who represented Bushenyi-Ishaka Municipality in the 10th Parliament is said to have lost battle to COVID-19 today Sunday 9th January at around 6pm at Mbarara Regional Referral Hospital.
Speaker Oulanya on his official Twitter handle showed concern over the former legislator’s death playing to God to comfort his family.
“Sad to learn of the passing of Hon. Arinda Gordon, former Representative of Bushenyi – Ishaka Municipality in the 10th Parliament. May God comfort his family and rest his soul in eternal peace” Oulanya posted.
In the same spirit, the deputy Speaker Anita Among also consoled with the greaving family stressing that he will be remembered for his service in the 10th Legislation.
“My sympathies to the family and friends of Hon.ArindaGordonCowboy,May his Soul find eternal rest. We shall remember you for your dedication in serving your people and Country in the 10th Parliament” deputy Speaker Anita Among posted.
Arinda lost the Parliamentary seat in 2021 to Derrick Kabuura. His death to COVID-19 comes at a time when the government is moving to fully reopen the economy that has been strongly hit by the virus two years ago.
The President on December 31st 2021 noted that the reopening of the economy will commence with Schools on Monday 10th 2022
