The Uganda U20 Women’s National Team comprehensively defeated FUFA women Super league club UCU Lady Cardinals 5-0 during the latest practice match at the UCU play ground – Mukono.

Juliet Nalukenge who had joined camp on Friday at the Cranes Paradise Hotel – Kisaasi netted a brace.

Fauzia Najjemba added the other brace before Shakira Nyanagahirwa capped the icing on the cake.

This was the fourth practice match for the team meant to fine tune them before facing South Africa.

The first practice match was played on Tuesday (She Corporate won 2-1 at Lugogo), Msingi Soccer Academy won 31 before the Uganda U-20 women team edged the Uganda Martyr’s High School, Lubaga 2-1 at Lubaga.

Head coach Ayub Khalifa Kiyingi is impressed by the steady-fast progress of the individual players and the team in general over the different training sessions and practice games.

‘We have had good progress over time in training sessions which have been decimated by friendly matches. The players keep learning and improving day after day’ Kiyingi revealed.

‘As we players, we are prepared to face South Africa, a team that we once played in the COSAFA U-17 championship. We are working hard to win the game’ Nalukenge vowed.

Training resumes on Monday, 29th November 2021 as the days clock closer to the first leg at St Mary’s Stadium, Kitend on 3rd December.
