Bonevento Qualifies for Serie A for first time in History

Italian Serie B side Bonevento Calcio qualified for the Italy top league “The Serie A” for the first time in History since 1929, after winning Carpi 1:0 in the second Leg of the Serie B qualification play offs at Stadio Ciro Vigorito on Thursday 8th June.

Bonevento had a vital advantage in the first Leg with a 0:0 draw eventually defying the odds at their home ground in the second Leg.

Romanian George Alexandru Puscas on loan from Inter Milan scored the only goal in the 32nd minute and sealed the historical victory for Bonevento.

The former Pescara and Novara Manager Marco Baroni will however make his debt managing a Serie A side for the first time in his career.

Bonevento Calcio now join Hellas Verona and Spal as the three teams promoted to 2017-2018 Italian Serie A.
