The Constitutional Court in Zambia has ruled that the country’s President Edgar Lungu can stand in presidential elections due in 2021

During the ruling, the court found that the president had not breached a constitutional two-term limit because he took over office after the death of the previously elected president Michael Sata.

Lungu served only a period of one year and six months which didn’t add up to the three year term of office.
