UGANDA: SFC, UPDAF hold joint 39th Tarehe Sita anniversary celebrations

The Special Forces Command (SFC) and Uganda People’s Defence Air Forces (UPDAF) have held joint celebrations marking the 39th Tarehe Sita anniversary with a call by SFC Commander, Maj. Gen. James Birungi to all soldiers to concentrate on the economic transformation of the country now that peace is prevailing in all corners of the nation.

“I want to remind you that now that there is peace in the country, it is now time to concentrate on the economic transformation of the country and your welfare,” he said.

Maj. Gen. Birungi was today the Chief Guest at the 39th Tarehe Sita Anniversary Celebrations held at the Uganda People’s Defence Air Forces Headquarters in Entebbe. The occasion ran under the theme ‘Consolidating the UPDF Strategic Partnership with the People to Guard the Gains of the Liberation.’

The celebrations that started with a route march from the children’s garden in Entebbe Municipality through the town to the Airport Road via Kitoro village up to the Headquarters of the Uganda People’s Defence Air Forces saw the participants from the Air Force Primary and Secondary Schools, wananchi and members of the Local Defense Units take part in the celebrations.

Entebbe Municipality leadership attended the function.
