Uganda records yet another COVID-19 death in the capital

The Ministry of Health has confirmed another fatality due to covid-19, taking the number of deaths to Six.  The deceased is a 70 year Old Ugandan resident of Nateete in Kampala.

According to the Health Ministry’s statement, the deceased while at Lubaga Hospital on July 24th 2020 presented signs and symptoms consistent with coronavirus including mild fever, cough and difficulty in breathing.

Further investigations revealed that he was diabetic, a risk factor for Coronavirus and admitted at the Intensive care at the same facility and samples taken from him. The samples sent to the laboratories for analysis later confirmed SARS-COV2.

He was, according to the statement, referred to Mulago on July 28th 2020 and admitted in ICU. Unfortunately he passed away on the evening on July 6th 2020.

In a related development, the Ministry of Health has recorded 31 new cases from the results of Coronavirus tests done on Thursday 06 August 2020.

The new cases hike Uganda’s Cumulative confirmed cases of Ugandans to 1,254. The country has todate recorded Cumulative recoveries of 1,113.
