Robinah Nakazibwe, a resident of Bulaga in Wakiso District, has been arrested for allegedly beheading her two-month-old baby girl commonly known as Precious.

Mr Luke Owoyesigyire, the Deputy Kampala metropolitan Police spokesperson, said Nakazibwe used a panga and a knife to kill the baby on Thursday morning before attempting to commit suicide.

“Preliminary investigations indicate that Nakazibwe has been working as a waitress at a pork joint commonly known as Kafunda at Bulaga trading centre. After the heinous act, Nakazibwe also cut herself but the residents alerted local leaders and police who responded in time,” he said, adding that the body of the deceased was taken to city mortuary Mulago hospital for post mortem.

Bulaga police have since embarked on investigations to unearth whatever could have triggered Nakazibwe to kill her own child.

Nakazibwe was rushed to Family Clinic at Bulaga trading centre where she is nursing wounds she sustained while attempting to commit suicide.

Detectives recovered among other exhibits from the scene of crime; two pangas and one knife all with bloodstains.
