Tropical Bank bankrolls 2019 UMEA Muslim Solidarity Games

Tropical Bank Uganda Limited has bankrolled the 2019 UMEA Muslim Solidarity Games with a financial support UGX 6.8 M (Six Million Eight Hundred and forty Thousand shillings) only.

The cheque was officially handed over to the UMEA Sports organising committee chairman Hajji Twahil Kiteezaala.  

Dr. Sulaiman Lujja, the Manager Islamic banking at Tropical bank flanked by Johnson Galabuzi (head of retail banking), Solomon Rachkara (Sales and Marketing) and other bank officials graced the brief handover.

‘I commend the organisers of the 2019 UMEA Muslim Solidarity Games for continually having improved the Games. As Tropical Bank, we are focused to improve on the sponsorship. We urge our customers to also continue supporting us as we promote the flagship campaign of Tropi-Hijja’ remarked Lujja

Hajji Kiteezala in his submission lauded Tropical Bank for the financial offer, for now three years in a row.

He also pledged to make the games better given the early preparations undertaken.

‘I thank Tropical Bank Uganda Limited for the support for now three years. We are ready to host successful games come this year Kasawo Islamic. Close to 50 schools have confirmed’ Hajji Kiteezala noted.

Other UMEA Officials who attended the event are; Hajji Hussein Lwembawo Kyagulanyi (Secretary) and Ayub Khalifani (Publicity Secretary) at the bank head offices in Lugogo on Tuesday. Hajji Siraje Sendi represented the General Secretary of UMEA.

The Director Kaswo Islamic Secondary school Hajji Kajaya Khasim alos attended the ceremony.

A number of trophies, medals and certificates will be given to the exceling teams and individuals.

The sporting disciplines that will be competed in are football (girls and boys), volleyball (girls and boys), handball (girls and boys), netball (girls), Table Tennis, and Badminton (Boys and Girls).

This year’s Games will be hosted by Kasawo Islamic Secondary School starting on Good Friday, 19th April through to Easter Monday 22nd April 2019.

The reporting day for all schools is Thursday, 18th April 2019 before the games off the next day.

Last year, Nkoma S.S in Mbale successfully hosted the games whose overall winner was Kibuli S.S.

This years event will be hosted at At Kasawo Islamic S.S
