“Please receive a contribution of 600 bunches of matooke from the people of Kooki.    We stand with our brothers and sisters in Uganda and especially those in cities whose food supplies have been adversely disrupted by the lockdown.
The people of Kooki are well known for growing matooke and coffee in addition to being cattle keepers.
Matooke is a favorite dish for most parts of Uganda , My cabinet felt it befitting that we would make this donation from our own gardens.
We are only limited by transport but we would have brought a lot more food.
We have already made another donation through the office of the RDC worth 10million towards feeding and sanitation for the our brothers and sisters in Kooki.    The people of Kooki with deep gratitude thank HE Gen Yoweri Museveni and his team for the great leadership exhibited during this pandemic.
Hon prime minister, when Uganda’s history is updated, HE and the people of Uganda will look back with pride at how well we collectively have handled this devastating health challenge of our time.   We are staying at home.
We are washing our hands.
We ask the almighty God to have mercy on Uganda and on the world.     HRH Apollo Ssansa Kabumbuli II
