Tanzania’s billionaire dies in Dubai

DUBAI, United Arab Emirates

Tanzania’s media mogul and businessman Reginald Mengi has died in the capital of the United Arab Emirates, Dubai at the age of 75.

Mr Mengi, through his manufacturing, mining and media conglomerate IPP Group, owned both English and Kiswahili newspapers, radio and TV stations, bottled water and is moving into smart-phone and tablet manufacturing.

Besides his businesses, the billionare was known for his generous contributions to multiple charity organisations and his desire to further boast the economic development of his country.

By the time of his death, he was estimated to be worth US$560 million
