CALIFORNIA, United States of America
At least six people have been shot when a man opened fire in a crowded bar packed with college students in southern California, local authorities say.
A Ventura County Sheriff’s deputy was among those injured in the Borderline Bar & Grill in Thousand Oaks.
The police in an earlier statement said at least 30 shots were fired in the bar where the gunman forced himself into.
“The gunman used an automatic weapon and also threw in some sort of smoke bombs in to the crowd in the club,” it read.
The extent of the victims’ injuries has not yet been released. Law enforcement and emergency crews were flooding the scene.
Authorities urged the public to avoid the area.
