Rubber Rises to Over 3-Month High

The rubber market continued its upward momentum in the second week of January, with futures rising above 295 yen per kg for the first time since early November 2020, on concerns over a supply shortage in the international market. The threat of lower production persists across Southeast Asia because of labour shortage, floods, and unfavourable weather in Thailand and Vietnam. On the bullish side was also a strong demand for medical gloves in the wake of rising coronavirus cases globally.
