KINSHASA, Democratic Republic of Congo
Democratic Republic of Congo’s Presidential candidate Martin Fayulu has denounced the results released by the country’s electoral commission as fraud that people should “never accept”
The figures surprised the powerful Catholic Church who had a few days ago announced that Mr Fayulu was the clear victor.
The Catholic Church had during the voting period stationed more than 40,000 election monitor in various polling stations and warned that there had been irregularities.
Mr Tshisekedi is the first opposition leader to win the presidency since the country became independent more than 50 years ago.
