1. National Prayer Breakfast 2019
His Excellency President Uhuru Kenyatta will this morning lead the nation at the 2019 National Prayer Breakfast at Safari Park Hotel in Nairobi.
The annual event brings together leaders to reflect and pray for the country.
This year’s prayer breakfast will be graced by His Excellency President Salva Kiir Mayardit of the Republic of South Sudan.
2. Madaraka Day celebrations at Narok Stadium, Narok County
The President will on Saturday, 1st June 2019, lead the country in celebrations to mark the 56th Madaraka Day at Narok Stadium in Narok County.
The day is celebrated annually to mark the historic day in 1963 when Kenya attained internal self-rule from the British colonial powers.
The 2018 Madaraka Day celebrations were held at Kinoru Stadium in Meru County in line with a directive by President Kenyatta on rotational hosting of identified national events in Counties to accord all Kenyans an opportunity to participate in these festivities.
3. President to visit Canada for the 2019 Global Women Deliver Conference
President Uhuru Kenyatta will next week make an official visit to Vancouver, Canada, to attend the 2019 Global Women Deliver Conference at the invitation of Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.
President Kenyatta is scheduled to make keynote addresses at several of the sessions during the three-day conference.
The conference will bring together over 6000 high profile delegates including world leaders for discussions aimed at finding lasting solutions to the global challenge of gender equality and the wellbeing of girls in the 21st century.
During the visit, President Kenyatta is also scheduled to hold talks with his host Prime Minister Trudeau on the sidelines of the global conference.
