Museveni was among 14 who witnessed the scientific wedding ceremony of Phiona Akoragyea and Herbert Kihanda in Entebbe on Saturday.
The President confirmed: “Mama Janet Museveni and I attended the “scientific” wedding of my cousin, Phiona Akoragye, and her husband, Herbert Kihanda, in Entebbe on Saturday.”
Museveni hailed: “I thank Archbishop Steven Kazimba for presiding over this function that had a total of 14 guests.”
The head of state said: “Like I have said previously, what is important about a marriage ceremony are the legal and spiritual elements, not the social fanfare. I wish the couple a blissful marriage.”
Museveni recollected: “Phiona’s father, the Late Mzee Eriya Riisi, was a brother to my father, Late Mzee Amos Kaguta. Herbert is a son of Late Cosmas Mbagaya and Edida Katendwa Kasharu.”
