KAMPALA, Uganda

Uganda’s First Lady and Minister for Education and Sports Janet Museveni has released the Primary Leaving Examination 2018.

Here are the major highlights.

.Male performance better than female

.More girls registered than boys

.There was an increase in candidature to 3.9 percent

. In Bundibugyo teachers in eight schools were found cheating for their candidates

. The candidature in 2017 in 088 percent

. Failure rate declined

. 671,923 candidates were registered from 13, 0722 centres last year.

. There was improvement in English


.There were more girls’ registered than boys

.The Total number of PWD candidates was 1128

.Results of 3500 withheld

. In division one, 13.5% of boys passed compared to 10.5% of girls.

. In division two, 42.7% of boys passed compared to 40.6 of girls.

.Girls outdid the boys further down.
