Opposition figure Bobi Wine has withdrawn his petition challenging Yoweri Museveni’s victory from the Supreme Court, saying the courts are not independent. “The people of Uganda are going to have the final say in their destiny,” he says.

Bobi wine– since we petitioned the Supreme Court, the Chief Justice has met Kaguta Museveni about 3 times. Imagine this is an arbitrator meeting a respondent in a case. In one of the meetings, the Chief Justice presented a budget to Museveni.

Bobi wine cites precedent of Amama Mbabazi election petition where the court accepted an amendment. “It shocked us and the entire world that the Supreme Court rejected our application to file an amendment to the petition”

Bobi wine – We are convinced that the Supreme Court has a predetermined mind to reject our petition on grounds that we didn’t have enough evidence. But this is the same court wc has refused to take our evidence. Part of the evidence is a video from Kalundi Serumaga

Bobi wine – the evidence also had DR forms from Kiruhura where Museveni claims to have scored 100% + videos from our agents
